Mailsend+ Scales Support

If you did not install a scale when you installed your franking machine you can do it at any time later.

To access step-by-step installation instructions for compatible scales:

1. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the global toolbar.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen, and tap Scale Installation Guides under the Advanced Options section.

3. To view all of the available scales, swipe to the left on the screen.

4. Tap to select the appropriate scale, then tap Continue.

5. Follow the instructions displayed on your screen. To advance to the next step, swipe the screen to the left.

Zeroing the scale sets the weight with nothing on the scale to zero.

To zero the scale, follow the instructions below.

1. From the home screen select “Envelope Printing”.

2. Click into the scale box where the weight is showing.

3. Click the “Scale” option.

4. Click “Zero scale”.

5. Then click cancel.

6. You will see that your scale is set to zero and ready for an item to be placed on.

To reset the scale, follow the instructions below.

1. From the home screen select “Envelope Printing”.

2. Click into the scale box where the weight is showing.

3. Click the “Scale” option.

4. Click “Zero scale”.

5. Then click cancel.

6. You will see that your scale is set to zero and ready for an item to be placed on.

To replace the scale, follow the instructions below.

1. Remove the old scale unit from the machine.

2. Open the new scale box and remove all foam, including the pink one in the middle.

3. Place the grey plate back onto the scale once the pint foam is removed.

4. Place the new scale onto the machine, making sure the connector sits down correct.

This procedure can be used when you know the weight of a mail piece and are not using the integrated weighing platform.

1. Tap Envelope Printing on the Home screen.

2. Tap the weight button.

3. Tap the Manual button.

4. Tap the kg option and enter the kilograms.

5. Tap the grams option and enter the grams.

6. Tap Apply.

7. Tap Class on the Envelope Printing screen. If necessary, select Start Over to display all of the class options.

8. Select the class.

9. Select the type of package or envelope.

10. Select any special services required.

11. Tap Apply.

12. Feed the envelope through the machine.

Use your device to weigh your mail piece and calculate the correct postage for you.

1. Tap Envelope Printing on the Home screen.

2. Tap the weight button.

3. Tap Scale.

4. Place the envelope on the weighing platform. You must do this before the next step or else the Apply button will remain inactive.

5. Tap Apply.

6. Tap Class on the Envelope Printing screen.

7. Select the class. If necessary, select Start Over to display all of the class options.

8. Select any special services required.

9. Tap Apply.

10. Place the envelope or envelopes on the feed deck. Depending on the model you have, feed the envelopes manually or tap Start to feed the envelopes.

External scales can be both practical and useful if you send large volumes of mail such as parcels and packages.

1. If you are using the scale that is located on top of the device, remove the scale by it lifting off.

2. Fit the blanking plate on the device where the scale was located.


3. Tap the “Settings” on the toolbar.

4. Scroll down and tap “Scale Installation Guides”.

5. Swipe to the left and select the scale you are installing.

6. Tap “Continue”.

7. Following the on-screen instructions, swipe to the left and unbox the scale.

8. Position and level the scale. The scale has a level bubble under its lid. Ensure the bubble is within the circle of the level bubble by adjusting the round feet of the scale.

9. Connect the large end of the USB cable into the device and the other end into the scale.

10. Tap “Continue”.

11. Tap “Verify”.

12. Tap “Got It”.

13. Tap “Envelope Printing”.

14. Tap the “Weight” icon, then tap the “Scale” option.

15. Place your mail on the scale.

16. Tap “Apply”.

If you are facing scale issues with your franking machine, you must:

1. Remove the scales.

2. Place the scales back on securely.

3. Add an item to the scales to test they are now working.

If your device is close to an air conditioning unit, fan, draughts or is not on a stable surface, use Scale Stabilization to help prevent weighing issues and provide more accurate readings.

1. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the global toolbar.

2. Scroll down to the Advanced device Options section.

3. Tap Scale Stabilization.

4. Tap Enhanced.

5. Tap the back arrow to return to the Home screen.

When you move your device to a new address in a different region or install a new scale, check the scale location code is still correct.

1. Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the global toolbar.

2. Tap Location & Time Zone.

3. Check the location code is correct.

4. Tap Apply to confirm.
