Can You Put Franked Mail In A Post Box?

If you wish to send your franked mail in a regular post box, you are required to use Royal Mail Metered Posting Envelopes (commonly referred to as low volume posting envelopes). Metered posting envelopes can be easily acquired by your franking machine supplier and they can be used to place up to 30 franked mail items into one metered posting envelope!. Here at Mailcoms we supply our own range of approved metered posting envelopes. View our range of Approved Metered Posting Envelopes here.

Approved Metered Posting Envelopes

If you wish to send other franked mail items, e.g. anything else that cannot fit into a metered posting envelope, you will have to use a business mail post box, a mail centre or visit your local Post Office. Alternatively, there are some parcel post boxes randomly located around the UK to help small businesses send parcels easier. So if one of these are located near you, use them. Find out more about Royal Mail Parcel Postboxes here.

Where can you post franked mail?

Post Offices, Royal Mail Delivery offices, Mail Centres and Business Post Boxes are the four places you can post your franked mail. If you are posting 30 items or less, that can fit into a approved metered posting envelope, you can use normal post boxes.
