More information about Mailcoms..
Mailcoms was started back in 2005 by Des & Nicola McManus from a converted garage at their family home in Cannock, Staffordshire.
Des started his life as a junior at one of the two large franking machine manufacturers and over many years worked his way up to Director level when in 2005 the franking machine industry went through some well over due changes. The industry had been dominated by two main manufactures and the Office of fair Trading and the Royal Mail were looking to offer more choice to customers for both service and sales of equipment and franking machine supplies. This seemed like perfect timing for Des who after years of listening to customers had a vision of offering low running cost alternative franking machines without the need for using sales people who can often put many customers off.
This unique new direction used modern technology to market products and spread the word and has since resulted in Mailcoms being one of the largest Independent franking machine suppliers in the UK.
In 2008 Mailcoms were awarded the accolade of approved Royal Mail™ Independent Maintainers and Inspectors of postal franking machines. You'll find Mailcoms listed on the Royal Mail web site under 'Approved Suppliers Inspectors and Maintainers', click here to view our listing.
This is an accreditation only shared with a handful of other companies across the UK. A major key point of this award was our attention to detail in dealing with service issues. This is vitally important when servicing equipment that essentially prints money.
Mailcoms has now grown to a turnover well in excess of a million pounds and employs nearly 20 staff including the three McManus children who while studying at either college or university work part time for the business in various roles including administration and web design.
From our earlier humble beginnings in a converted single garage and franking machines over running the family home early 2009 Mailcoms moved into offices above a shop in Cannock town centre and a separate warehousing facility a short distance away. After two years we had also outgrown these premises and during 2011 we made the big step into acquiring our own purpose built premises at an investment of over £500,000 and moved in at the end of 2011.

These new premises enable us to be contained on a single site with larger storage facilities to hold more stock, a purpose built ink cartridge remanufacturing centre to enable us to increase our cartridge recycling program and extensive administration and service facilities to enable us to continue being one of the premier franking machine distributors and service agents in the UK.
We pride ourselves on a more personal level of customer service and are proud of some of the kind words left on our testimonial page. Click Here for more information.
