SendPro Mailstation Error Codes

Pitney Bowes SendPro Mailstation · Error Codes

How to fix common error messages on the Pitney Bowes SendPro Mailstation franking machine, including ink errors 4101-4106, scale errors, printer temperature and rate messages.

How do I fix error codes 4101-4106 on the SendPro Mailstation?

Error codes 4101, 4102, 4103, 4104, 4105 and 4106 come from the ink cartridge. First reseat the ink, then restart.

  1. Open the ink door and check whether the ink carriage is visible.
  2. If the cartridge is visible, remove and reinstall it, then close the ink door.

Caution: Do not push or pull the carriage manually — this will disconnect the print carriage.

If the carriage is not visible or reseating does not help, restart the device, then if needed perform a hard reconnect.

Restart:

  1. Hold the power button until the screen displays “Shutting Down”.
  2. Once off, wait 5 seconds.
  3. Tap the power button to turn it back on.

Hard reconnect:

  1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the machine.
  2. Wait ten seconds.
  3. Plug the cord back in firmly.
  4. Tap the power button.

How do I fix a “Scale not detected” or “No scale connected” message on the SendPro Mailstation?

These mean the device cannot detect the scale. Check for nearby vibrations, make sure no other devices are in the USB ports, zero the scale (tap Weight > Zero Scale), and try a different USB port. If it persists, restart the device, then hard reboot.

See our SendPro Mailstation Scales Support guide for full scale troubleshooting.

How do I fix a “Reading” message with no weight on the SendPro Mailstation?

If the scale shows “Reading” and no weight, it is an internal error. Zero the scale, move the USB cable to a different port, then restart and, if needed, hard reboot the device.

How do I fix an “Unable to print stamp” message on the SendPro Mailstation?

“Unable to print stamp” usually means the contract associated with the device is no longer active. Disconnect the USB scale, restart the device, then perform a hard restart if needed. If it resolves, reconnect the USB scale. If it persists, contact your franking machine supplier.

How do I fix a “Restart Device (null : 0x0)” message on the SendPro Mailstation?

This printer message asks you to restart. Restart the device (hold the power button until “Shutting Down”, wait 5 seconds, tap the power button); if it remains, check the physical connection by unplugging the power for ten seconds, then reconnecting and powering on.

How do I fix a “Printer temperature high” message on the SendPro Mailstation?

This message (with a rapidly flashing blue power light) means the lift motor is too hot. Do not print more than 300 stamps at a time. Allow the device to cool for two hours, sitting idle — do not power it off or leave the ink door open during cool-down. If it persists, unplug the power for ten seconds, then reconnect and power on.

How do I fix a “Your rates are out of date” message on the SendPro Mailstation?

This appears when you re-power after a full shutdown and the device needs to check its rate updates are current. Tap Restart now and allow the device to restart — the wait is around 15 minutes while background updates and checks complete, after which the error clears and the Home screen appears.

What do “Something went wrong”, “Error getting stamp” and “This device has been disabled” mean on the SendPro Mailstation?

These messages indicate an account or device status issue: “Something went wrong” (during installation) and “Error getting stamp” point to a problem with your account, and “This device has been disabled” means the device has been withdrawn. For all three, contact your franking machine supplier for further assistance.

SendPro Mailstation Error Codes – Frequently Asked Questions
