Design your franking impression
Everything happens in your browser. Your logo is only sent to us if you choose to send your design at the end.
1Your logo
Not quite right? Adjust the ink
Franking prints one colour of ink, so your logo is shown as solid ink.
2Your mail
3Return address
This preview is a guide only. The Royal Mail mark, date, postage value, meter number and barcodes are examples. The exact size and position of your logo depend on your franking machine model and label length. Your logo is uploaded to us when you ask for your design.
Happy with it? We will email your design over once you have confirmed your email address. It is free, and you can also ask one of our team to check it will print cleanly on a real franking machine and give you a call.

What does a franking impression look like? A Mailmark franking impression prints in blue ink. From left to right it can show your logo and return address, the Delivered by Royal Mail mark, the date, postage value and meter number above a 2D barcode, and a box showing the class and format, such as 1st Class Letter. Signed For items also carry a tracking number and barcode.
Tips for a logo that franks well
Keep it simple and bold
Strong shapes and clear lettering stay sharp when printed in one ink colour at franking size.
Use a high-resolution file
A file 1000 pixels wide or more, or an SVG, gives the cleanest result. Small web images can print blurry.
Avoid shading and fine detail
Gradients, photos, thin lines and very small text are often lost. Solid ink prints best.
Check your label length
Signed For with a logo and return address needs more room. See Signed For compatible labels.
Franking logo FAQs
Can I put my company logo on my franking impression?
Yes. Most franking machines can print a company logo or advert alongside the Mailmark impression, and many can also print a return address, so your mail is branded before it is even opened.
Will my logo print in colour?
No. Mailmark franking prints in a single colour of ink, so colours and shading in your logo are converted to solid ink. The preview on this page shows how that looks.
What file should I use for my franking logo?
Use a high-resolution PNG, JPG or SVG, ideally 1000 pixels wide or more, on a plain background. Simple, bold shapes and clear text print best. Thin lines, very small text and shading can be lost when franked.
Why is the impression wider with Signed For?
Signed For items franked on a Mailmark machine carry a tracking number and a 1D barcode printed next to the franking impression. With a logo and return address as well, you will often need longer franking labels.
Can I add a return address to my franking impression?
Yes. A return address can be printed to the left or right of your logo, so any undelivered mail comes straight back to you.
Is the preview exactly what my franking machine will print?
No. The preview is a guide. The exact size and position of your logo depend on your franking machine model and label length, and the Royal Mail mark, date, value, meter number and barcodes shown are examples. Our team can help prepare your logo for your machine.
