Postbase Printing Support

Watch this video to learn how to replace the ink cartridge on your Postbase franking machine. Applicable for the following Postbase franking machines: Postbase Econ, Office, Enterprise, Enterprise Pro, Qi3, Qi4, Qi6, Qi9, & Ten.
Follow these steps to replace the ink cartridge: 1. Select “Menu”. 2. Select “Print System”. 3. Select “Change Cartridges”. 4. The lid will automatically lift up so that you can see the ink cartridges. 5. Press down and pull forward on both ink cartridges. They will pop out of place. 6. Remove both ink cartridges from the machine slowly and safely. 7. Get your new ink cartridges and remove the protective layer from both. 8. Now place your new cartridges back into the franking machine so it is seated nicely. 9. Firmly press down on the ink cartridges until they both click into place. 10. Close the lid. 11. The franking machine will now perform maintenance and prompt you to perform a test pattern. 12. To perform a test pattern, place an envelope or label into the franking machine. The machine will then perform a test pattern. 13. If you are happy with the test pattern, click the green tick button on the franking machine touch screen.

To resolve print related issues on the franking machine, you must: 1. Select “Print System”. 2. Select “Change Cartridges”. 3. The lid will open up. 4. Press down on the cartridges & remove them from the machine. 5. Now we are going to clean the ink cartridges. With a damp tissue, wipe the print heads of the ink cartridges. 6. Get some tissue paper and place it over the top of the print heads so that they cover the print heads. 7. Shake the ink cartridge and repeat for the other cartridge. There now should be two ink lines on your tissue paper. 8. Now we are going to replace the ink cartridges. Insert both ink cartridges back into the franking machine, ensuring that the print heads face down and away from you. 9. Once inserted into the franking machine, close the lid. 10. The franking machine will now clean the ink cartridges and prompt you to perform a test print. Get a label and process it through the franking machine. The impression should be perfect.

To resolve contact failure on the franking machine, you must: 1. Select “Continue”. 2. Select “Change Cartridges”. 3. The lid will open up. 4. Press down on the cartridges & remove them from the machine. 5. Now we are going to clean the ink cartridges contacts. With a rubber, gently rub the contacts on both ink cartridges. 6. Now we are going to replace the ink cartridges. Insert both ink cartridges back into the franking machine, ensuring that the print heads face down and away from you. 7. Once inserted into the franking machine, close the lid. 8. The franking machine will now clean the ink cartridges and prompt you to perform a test print. Get a label and process it through the franking machine. The impression should be perfect.

1. Remove your ink cartridge from the franking machine. 2. Press the ink cartridge down onto folded tissue to see if the ink flows. 3. Place the tip of the printhead into boiling water and hold it there for around 30 seconds. 4. Press the ink cartridge down onto a warm damp cloth for around 10 seconds. 5. Press the ink cartridge onto the tissue once again to check the ink flow. 6. You are aiming to get 2 parallel tram lines. 7. Place the ink cartridge back in your machine and run a test print. If the problem persists repeat the process.

1. Remove the ink cartridge from the franking machine. 2. Clean the contacts on the ink cartridge very carefully using a rubber or the alcohol wipe provided. 3. Dry off or wipe any residue. 4. Reinsert the ink cartridge and into the franking machine and test again.
