If the Base does not display a correct weight, complete the following actions to correct the problem.

NOTE: Display – – g indicates a weighing error. When this weighing error occurs on the home screen, the Standard Weighing mode is automatically selected if the Automatic Weight Detection is activated, see How to Activate the Automatic Weight Detection on the weighing platform.

Causes

1. There are vibrations or air drafts in the weighing area.

2. Something is touching or laying on the Weighing Platform.

3. The Weighing Platform zero is not correct.

Solutions

1. Use a solid and steady table: Away from any door & Away from any fan.

2. Clear the weighing zone and re-zero the Weighing Platform (see below).

NOTE: To avoid weighing errors, make sure the weighing platform is clear when starting the system.

You can enter the weight manually if a mail piece exceeds the weighing capacity of all your weighing platform. If this situation occurs, you will need to print the postage amount on a label to stick onto the mail piece.

To enter the weight manually from the home screen, you must first select the postal class:

1. Press Menu.

2. Select Batch Settings and press OK.

3. Select Weighing Type and press OK.

4. Select Manual Weight Entry and press OK. The Manual weight entry screen is displayed.

5. Enter the weight (in g) and press OK to validate.

6. The home screen displays the Manual Weight Entry icon and the weight entered.

To change the default weighing type, as supervisor:

1. Press Menu.

2. Select Default User Settings and press OK.

3. Select Base Settings and press OK.

4. Select Default Weighing Type and press OK.

5. Select a default weighing type in the list.

6. Press OK to validate.

This functionality shall be implemented for improving the user productivity and the ease of use of the mailing system. The user is able to change the weighing type to the weighing platform standard weighing by putting a mail piece onto the weighing platform. The weighing platform standard weighing is automatically selected when a weight increase is detected on the weighing platform. A weight removal from the weighing platform do not trigger the Weighing Platform Automatic Selection. A warning message can be displayed to the operator to confirm that the weighing platform will be automatically selected.

Activating the automatic weight detection on the Weighing Platform

1. Log in as the Supervisor.

2. Press Menu.

3. Select Default User Settings and press OK.

4. Select Base Settings and press OK.

5. Select Auto Weight Detection and press OK.

6. Select AUTO WEIGHT DETECTION to activate the function.

7. Press OK to validate.

De-activating the automatic weight detection on the Weighing Platform

1. Log in as the Supervisor.

2. Press Menu.

3. Select Default User Settings and press OK.

4. Select Base Settings and press OK.

5. Select Auto Weight Detection and press OK.

6. Select NO AUTO WEIGHT DETECTION to de-activate the function.

7. Press OK to validate.

1. Log in as a User.

2. Press Menu.

3. Select Batch Settings and press OK.

4. Select Reset WP and press OK.

5. Remove all items from the Weighing Platform.

6. Press OK to set to zero the Weighing Platform.

1. Log in as a Supervisor.

2. Press Menu.

3. Select Machine Settings and press OK.

4. Select Weighing Functions and press OK.

5. Select Zero Weigh Platform and press OK.

6. Remove all items from the Weighing Platform.

7. Press OK to set to re-zero the Weighing Platform.

8. Press OK when Weigh Platform zeroing complete.

1. Press Menu.

2. Select Batch Settings and press OK.

3. Select Tare WP and press OK.

4. Place the item you want to use on the Weighing Platform.

5. Press OK to set weight to zero.

6. Press OK when Tare WP complete.

1. Log in as a Supervisor.

2. Press Menu.

3. Select Machine Settings and press OK.

4. Select Weighing Functions and press OK.

5. Select Tare WP and press OK.

6. Press OK to tare the Weighing Platform.
