How do I create a default preset on the Pitney Bowes DM60?
A preset saves your most-used franking settings (carrier, class, mail type, envelope message) as defaults. When the preset feature is enabled, these values load automatically each time the machine starts or wakes from sleep.
Note: The DM60 can hold only one preset. Creating a new preset overwrites the existing one.
Step 1 — Select your settings: From the Home screen, press Review (down) to view current settings (class, mail type, account, ad/envelope message). If happy with these, proceed to Step 2. Otherwise, press Enter/Yes from the Home screen and select your preferred carrier, class, mail type and envelope message.
Step 2 — Save as preset:
- Press Menu / Options.
- Press Review (down) until Change setup? displays, then press Enter/Yes.
- Press Review (down) until Use preset setup? displays, then press Enter/Yes.
- When View stored preset? displays, press No.
- When Store new preset? displays, press Enter/Yes.
- When Review settings to be stored? (yes/no) displays, press Enter/Yes to review settings or No to skip.
- Press Enter/Yes to confirm storing the new preset.
- When View new preset? displays, press No.
- When Stay in setup? displays, press No. The machine returns to the Home screen.
How do I turn the preset feature on or off on the Pitney Bowes DM60?
The DM60 preset feature can be enabled or disabled at any time. When on, the machine loads preset values on startup. When off, the machine loads the last-used values instead.
To turn the preset feature on
- Press Menu / Options.
- Press Review (up) until Change Setup? displays, then press Enter/Yes.
- Press Review (down) until Use preset setup? displays, then press Enter/Yes.
- If the preset is currently OFF, the display shows Turn Preset ON? — press Enter/Yes to enable it.
- If the display shows View stored Preset?, the preset is already on. Press Enter/Yes to review or Clear to return to the main screen.
To turn the preset feature off
- Press Menu / Options.
- Press Review (up) until Change Setup? displays, then press Enter/Yes.
- Press Review (down) until Use preset setup? displays, then press Enter/Yes.
- If the preset is ON, the display shows View stored Preset? — press Review (down) twice until Turn Preset OFF? displays, then press Enter/Yes.
- Press No to return to the main screen.
Why does the Pitney Bowes DM60 show “Invalid Preset” after changing the ink?
Issue: The display shows Invalid Preset after an ink cartridge change.
Cause: The Invalid Preset message means one or more items stored in the preset are no longer present on the machine — for example, an old envelope message that is no longer installed.
Resolution: Follow these steps to recreate your preset:
- Press Review (down) from the Home screen to view current settings (carrier, class, mail type, account, ad/envelope message). If happy with the settings, proceed to step 3.
- If you want to change any settings, press Enter/Yes from the Home screen and select new values for carrier, class, mail type and envelope message.
- Press Menu / Options.
- Press Review (down) until Change setup? displays. Press Enter/Yes.
- Press Review (down) until Use preset setup? displays. Press Enter/Yes.
- When View stored preset? displays, press No.
- When Store new preset? displays, press Enter/Yes.
- When Review settings to be stored? (yes/no) displays, press No (or Enter/Yes to review first).
- Press Enter/Yes to confirm storing the new preset.
- When View new preset? displays, press No.
- When Stay in setup? displays, press No. The machine returns to the Home screen.
DM60 Presets – Frequently Asked Questions
What settings can I save in a DM60 preset?
A DM60 preset can save your carrier (e.g. Royal Mail), class, mail type (Letter, Large Letter, etc.) and envelope message (ad/logo). These are loaded automatically each time the machine starts.
Can the DM60 store more than one preset?
No. The Pitney Bowes DM60 can hold only one preset at a time. Creating a new preset overwrites the existing one.
Why does my DM60 show “Invalid Preset”?
The Invalid Preset message means one or more items saved in the preset are no longer installed on the machine, such as an old envelope message. Follow the preset reset steps above to create a new valid preset.
What is the difference between preset ON and preset OFF on the DM60?
When the preset is ON, the machine loads the saved preset values (carrier, class, mail type, envelope message) each time it starts or wakes from sleep. When preset is OFF, the machine loads the last-used values instead.
