The Pitney Bowes DM50 is an entry-level franking machine designed for new users and businesses sending up to around 30 items a day. It uses smart meter technology (smart blue ink and VAT reclaim), connects via LAN or telephone line, and supports 5 adverts, departmental accounts and PIN protection – but it is not Mailmark-compatible.
The DM50 is an entry-level machine manufactured by Pitney Bowes, designed with new users in mind and businesses sending as many as 30 mail items a day. This is the recommended volume rather than a hard limit, and the machine comes with several features that make franking worthwhile.
Pitney Bowes DM50 Franking Machine
The Pitney Bowes DM50 comes with smart meter technology, so your business can use Royal Mail’s VAT services and frank in smart blue ink. With smart meter you can reclaim any VAT paid on your mail. This entry-level model connects via a telephone line or a LAN line for quick, easy downloads – LAN gives faster speeds, though a telephone line also works well.
The DM50 also offers other useful features. You can promote your business using 5 different advertisements – frank your company logo and a personalised advert on all your mail. You can also keep on top of postage spending with PIN-protected departmental accounts, helping you monitor all postage expenses.
However, this model does not come with the Mailmark service. It may become Mailmark compliant in future, but for now the DM50 is not Mailmark compatible, so you cannot benefit from Mailmark rates. We can supply both Smart and Mailmark franking machines. View our range of franking machines here.
