What to do with old or expired franking machine ink cartridges

Don’t just throw old franking ink cartridges in the bin. Even “empty” cartridges hold ink residue and mixed plastics and metals that are better recycled than sent to landfill. The easiest responsible option is to return your used cartridges to Mailcoms for recycling.

Can you put franking ink cartridges in the bin?

Technically yes, there’s nothing stopping you. But used cartridges almost always have ink residue left inside, which isn’t great for the environment – so we always recommend recycling them instead.
