Our Founder Takes On the London Marathon (With a Twist) for Charity

Mailcoms Founder Des McManus took on the London Marathon for charity, running dressed as a giant razor in support of our sister shaving company FFS Beauty. He ran to raise funds for the Headcase Cancer Trust and The Peter Pan Centre. Here is the story behind the run.

At Mailcoms we are committed to making a positive impact in our community and beyond. That is why we were thrilled that our Founder, Des McManus, took on the prestigious London Marathon, all in the name of charity.

But there was a twist. Des joined thousands of participants from around the world in the iconic London Marathon dressed as a giant razor, a nod to our sister shaving company, FFS Beauty. The razor suit, FFS Beauty’s mascot, was even adapted with solar-panel fans to keep Des cool during the event.

Supporting the Headcase Cancer Trust and The Peter Pan Centre

The Headcase Cancer Trust is a cause that is really important to us. You may have seen Des’s previous charity activity for Headcase, where he acted as a guide rider on their annual ‘Pedal the Pyrenees’ ride. Headcase is the only charity in the UK to solely fund research to find a cure for Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), the most common type of brain tumour, and operates on a voluntary basis so donations go directly to research.

Established for over 50 years, The Peter Pan Centre provides key support to children with disabilities, offering specialised learning and vital support for families. With every step of the marathon, Des was dedicated to raising funds for the important work of both charities.
