Frama Franking Machines & Mailcoms

Its independently recognised that Mailcoms are one of the most customer friendly forward thinking Royal Mail Approved franking machine suppliers and maintainers in the UK.

As such we are constantly reviewing the best value we can bring to our customers and we feel that Frama equipment can no longer offer this best value to support our promise of 'low cost of ownership' to our customers. Frama's new range of Matrix Franking Machines we felt were not as well built as their previous equipment and use expensive franking machine ink cartridges that we understand are microchipped and may time out after 6 months even if there is ink left in the cartridge. In addition Frama are charging £60 per annum for re-crediting and forcing customers at a large expense to accept all postal Royal Mail postal rate updates even if the service service being updated was not required (including parcel force rates!!!). From our meetings with Frama we understand that if the update is not purchased and performed the machines lock off and become unusable. The cost of these extras are often hidden in expensive service and maintenance agreements.

Also, Frama UK Ltd posted significant financial losses in their last financial year and we are concerened about the long term prospects for this business. The dealer / distributor support has been very poor over that last few years, including having to wait over 3 months for vital replacement warranty parts.

As such Mailcoms have served notice to Frama that we will no longer offer our customers their postal franking machines machine from its product range. As receiving support and parts from Frama was always a challenge we learnt to support ourselves. Based on the amount of parts we have supplied all our customers over the last 3 years we have enough original Frama franking machine spare parts to last the next 20 years. In addition we have finished developing our own ink cartridges for the Frama Ecomail and the Mailmax and will be offering these at a much reduced price. Mailcoms are not reliant on Frama (UK) Ltd for postal Postal Rates updates and will continue to be supplied direct from Mailcoms as they have done in the past.
